French Nickel-Plated Brass Floor Lamp, 1940s(LF1213-12)
A French floor lamp dating from the 1940s, with a slender turned brass stem and a nickel-plated finish. The stem is detailed with a series of simple turned and ringed elements and is raised on a stepped hexagonal base.
The nickel-plated surface gives the lamp a clean, understated appearance while retaining the decorative character of the turned metalwork. At 67 inches high, with an 8-inch-wide base, its tall, narrow proportions make it particularly suitable beside a sofa, reading chair or occasional table.
The lamp has been professionally rewired with a double socket, ball-chain pulls and a silk-wrapped cord.
Very good vintage condition. Shade not included. The shade shown in the photographs measures 12 inches high, 19 inches in diameter at the top and 20 inches in diameter at the bottom.
