A magnificent small scale 19th century French Napoleon III “chapeau de gendarme” style settee in red velvet with contrasting bullion fringe.

This lovely small scale French Napoleon III settee features lovely turned legs, and gracefully curved arms. The classic “chapeau de gendarme” shaped back provides superior lumbar support and comfort. We have added casters in front to provide optimal pitch and relaxation, and to facilitate ease of movement. It is finished in rich red velvet with contrasting bullion fringe.

The smaller scale of this lovely settee makes it the perfect size for an alcove, bedroom or sitting room. It measures 34 inches high, 64 inches wide, and 36 inches deep, with a 14 inch seat height and 21 inch arm height. The actual seating area is 52 inches wide and 24 inches deep.
