French Late 19th Century Mahogany Three-Door Glass Bookcase with Original Glass & Keys (FB0826-01)
A handsome French late 19th to early 20th century mahogany bookcase of very good quality, featuring three glazed doors with their original glass and original working locks with keys.
Architecturally inspired in design, the bookcase is distinguished by its rounded corner stiles, substantial molded cornice, and finely proportioned paneled façade. Made from beautifully figured mahogany, the cabinet has acquired a rich, warm patina that highlights the natural beauty of the wood and reflects more than a century of careful use.
The interior features adjustable shelves, allowing the cabinet to accommodate books, decorative objects, or collections. For ease of transportation and installation, the bookcase completely disassembles and reassembles. Its clean architectural lines make it equally at home in both traditional and contemporary interiors, where it serves as an impressive library bookcase, display cabinet, or dining room cabinet.
Solidly constructed and beautifully finished, this bookcase exemplifies the restrained elegance and craftsmanship associated with fine French cabinetry of the period. In very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear, the bookcase has not been restored but would benefit from a professional French polish. It is being sold as is.
Selected for the curated collection at 145 Antiques, it reflects our focus on European antique and vintage furniture chosen for their quality, craftsmanship, and enduring design. A timeless and versatile antique with understated elegance.
